How to Break the Karmic Loop

We, who strive to achieve spiritual development, often have the feeling that certain people or situations impede that development.

There is a number of things that may hamper us in our progress along our spiritual way. Sometime people find bad karma as the gravest obstacle in their spiritual progress.

We were born in the wrong place, under the wrong circumstances; we should deal with those circumstances first, and start our spiritual development only afterwards. Is that really so?

If we want to answer that question, we must examine one of the most effective defensive mechanisms of our Mind, that is, finding a scapegoat. It means that whenever we encounter difficulties in our life, we tend to look for the reason of the problem outside ourselves. We blame the responsibility on external factors or persons which or who may cause our difficulties.

The Awakening of the Thinking Machine

by Ervin K. Kery

Please, carry out a simple, nonetheless astonishing experiment:

Take a watch or a stopwatch, and decide that you are not going to think for a while, as long as you are able to do so!
Well, how long has it taken until the first thought slipped into your mind? 5-10 seconds? Are you able to avoid thinking for minutes?

You will be astonished: you are incapable of not thinking. Thinking takes place, it happens to you. The thought thinks you, and it is not you who thinks it. You do not do it at will (if it depended it on your will, you could simply avoid thinking), and you are unable to suppress thinking or keep it under control. We are proud of capable of thinking, as this is what elevates us above the animal kingdom, and our personal identity is also rooted in our thoughts to a large extent. Philosopher René Déscartes declared ”I think, therefore I am.” But is this really thinking that makes us what we are? Would we exist if we did not think?

The Secret Strategies of the Spiritual Awakening

During our spiritual Journey we accumulate a vast amount of knowledge of the world. From the books read, lectures heard and conversations we try to pick the useful and interesting bits of information, ideas, thoughts and theories. The same applies to experience.

We believe that if we gather a sufficient amount of information during our Journey, we achieve something, we improve, we make a progress. All the knowledge and experience collected, however, improves the contents of the mind, that is, a part of the Ego.

When we are interested in the spiritual development, we apply the same method. In this way we believe we are richer as we accumulate a lot of information, we will have more spiritual experience.

The Signs of Spiritual Awakening

To be awake in life means the we are fully conscious in the present moment. Whatever we do, we do it fully consciously, focusing with all our attention to the activity we are actually performing. How many of us can say about ourselves that we are present in every moment of our life?

The Notion of the Illusionary Self

In your present, individual state of consciousness you identify with the thoughts and emotions that appear in your mind, so you believe that you are a separate, illusionary person, an Ego. Living as an Ego in this world, you attempt to stabilize your illusionary sense of self. You believe that the more (knowledge, material wealth) you add to your Ego, the stronger and more permanent it will be.

Using your Mind - for a Chance

We have read and heard a number of times that we do not utilize the full capacity of our brain, only a fragment of the forces of our Mind are used in our daily life. The full utilization of the potentials of our Mind would, however, add to our personality an immense creative force. The question therefore arises, how we are able to access the creative forces of our Mind?

In the Captivity of the Mind

The creative force of the Mind is only accessible in the present moment, in the here and now.  We need to live in the present time and concentrate our energies to the actual moment in order to be really able to live our lives to the full, to be present in life, and to access the creative forces of the Mind.

Live in the Flow of Life

On the ordinary days of our life, you work, educate your children, have some fun, build and sustain connections with others, that is, you live an ordinary life. The question is, whether you are mindful during all these things, or you just perform these activities mechanically, automatically. What is the evidence for me that you are not mindful?

First, that you are not present. To be present means that you are fully alert, attentive, and conscious in the present moment. Whatever you do, you do that fully consciously, you focus your entire attention on that particular activity. Or, do you feel free to declare that you are present in every moment of your life? You are careless most of the time, as a large segment of your attention is bound by dealing with events of your thoughts, events of past and plans for future and your own self. Psychological time therefore displaces the moment of the present, or subordinates it to past or future.

What is Our Highest Purpose?

Allow me to draw your attention to an apparently surprising thing. If I told you that now, when you are reading these lines, you are in fact asleep, you would certainly believe that I have gone mad.

Your are awake, you are concentrating your attention to reading, and you are aware of your environment as well. You can see the furniture of your room, you can hear the call of the birds from the nearby forest. You are also aware of your thoughts and emotions, too. How can anyone claim that you are asleep in this very moment?

Naturally, you, just as everyone else, sleep at night, and yes, sometimes you see dreams while you sleep.  But now it is daytime, you are awake, so how could you see dreams?

The 7 Power Codes of the Heart

This is an article by Gilbert Ross

In everyday language it is common to use the expression “at the heart of” or “the heart of the matter” indicating how the heart is considered to be of essence or of utmost importance. It’s also interesting to note how the same significance is not attributed to the mind although important in its own right. So what language is reflecting is the implicit agreement among us that the heart comes, or at least ought to come, prior to anything else.

Of course what we refer to as the heart, when not using the term literally or medically, is not the physical organ but a metaphor to the internal space, our seat of silent power, which allows positive human elements to arise: Love, intuition, compassion, courage, hope and trust.

7 Powerfull Signs of the Higher Consciousness

It has happened to all of us that we came under the spell of a moment some time during our life. A beautiful landscape, a sunset, a beautiful piece of art, the rhythm of music enchanted us. It may even happen that we are just lost in the silence of a peaceful moment.

The identification with the forms and shapes loosens a little bit for a short while, and in that instant we may experience an entirely different state of Consciousness. See some sings of this state of the Higher Consciousness.
